Okay, so I might be to dumb to play this game competitively but I would really love it if alongside the class symbol for opponents (and I guess allies) they would display the name of the specialization. Like when I'm roaming in WvW I would love to see, in writing, that the opponent I just clicked on is a Spellbreaker, or a firebrand, or whatever.
On the other hand, if it's JohnSmith.3457, then a name change request is appropriate. Umh, what does changing your display name and game being free to play have anything to do with each others? Name change contract for character name. This is something they said you would be able to do before launch, but no, you can't.
Available options are "Hide None" (default), "Only Show Squad", "Only Show Party", "Hide All". May hide some important gameplay mechanics if enabled, see. Effect LOD — Limit detail of particle effects. Helps reducing visual clutter from effects produced by of other players in high population scenarios.
Doesn't matter whether I use a VPN or not. I had this same issue. I tried on my desktop with and without a VPN, on my laptop that has never had a VPN installed, and even on my phone through mobile data (to make sure it wasn't my home router) which also doesn't have a VPN installed.
I had my display name changed over a year ago. Just some odd little caching issues that went away within a week. It is more impactful if you use services such as GW2 Efficency or GW2 Wingman. For the former, I think you can contact the developer to have the history of the different display names stitched together.
The hero panel should show you exactly what you look like to other players, including team colors in WvW and PvP (if you want to edit dyes, it shows your chosen dye colors when you switch to that interface). Buy a second account, log on and follow your character everywhere. Also, 2x loot :P. You don't need to follow.
Guild Wars 2 Discussion. [Suggestion] Renaming Our Accounts/Display Names. I don't know about anyone else, but five years ago when I bought Guild Wars 2 I never had an official username I'd go by. But after all these years, I've found one that fits me and I'd love to have it as my Display Name. I know it would be hard for the devs to create
Yes. In your Hero panel, where you view your equipment, there is a check box on both head and shoulder equips. You can uncheck them to hide them if you don't care for how they look. Only those two equips can be hidden though, and they will still show on the character select screen, just not ingame. Yes.
